Yeah. Because Bucky is going to go anywhere else while Steve slips back through time to return the stones. He doesn't expect Steve to come back. The punk has earned his respite, he's earned time away from the fight.
So as Bruce hammers at the controls, Bucky fully expects Steve to bypass the plan and make a life for himself.
.. even if it's a life without him.
He's earned it.
It's okay. He can harass Sam here and there and keep an eye on things. Steve's earned his break.
